The
narrow path of the balls allows for constant contact with grease for the life of
the bearings.
Grease
is held in close contact with the bearing balls by the bearing manufacturer's
seal running on a polished surface.
|
TAPERED ROLLER BEARINGS
|

|
The grease running action
caused by the surface of the roller bearing forces the grease to the outside of
the bearing with no way of replacing except to re-grease.
Grease
is held in place only by the idler manufacturer's seals which often leak and are usually located
at a much greater distance from the bearing than the seals on a sealed ball
bearing.

|
IF YOU INTEND TO GREASE, BUY TAPERED ROLLERS, IF NOT,
BUY YELOROLL ®
CONVEYOR ROLL FACTORY SEALED BALL BEARINGS.

BEARING
Single
row deep groove ball bearings with C4 clearances will allow up to 16 minutes of
angular deflections while still maintaining normal contact.

TAPER
ROLLER BEARINGS
Taper
roller bearings only tolerate 2 to 4 minutes of angular deflection.
Angular
deflection caused by heavy loading creates edge only contact of the roller
bearings severely reducing bearing life.
